Don’t Show Your Backs On Border: Home Affairs Adviser

Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury issued a stern warning to members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) against corruption and emphasized the importance of fulfilling their duties with integrity. He stressed that BGB personnel must not turn their backs at the border and should always carry out their responsibilities, especially in the areas of border security and anti-smuggling operations.

Addressing senior BGB officials at the Border Conference Center at BGB headquarters in Peelkhana, Dhaka, on Saturday, September 7, Lt. Gen. Chowdhury underscored that incidents like the killing of Felani should never be repeated. He warned that corruption would not be tolerated, and strict disciplinary measures, including termination, would be taken against those found involved in bribery or corrupt practices.

The conference was attended by BGB Director General Major General Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui and other senior officials, with participation from all BGB Region Commanders, Sector Commanders, Battalion Commanders, and other officials through video teleconference.
